| As others have noted, it IS a quiet book, but my children (3rd grade, 2nd grade, and pre-K) enjoyed it very much (although my 3rd grader, looking over my shoulder, said it was just 3 stars because he isn't that interested in planes - ahem).

| I read this to my 6-year-old, and we were both mesmerized. The story is told exceptionally well. First there is some "action," then some history, then more action. Practical details about rockets and space travel will fascinate kids and adults alike. And after reading this book, no one will forget the meaning of the words, "The Eagle has landed" and "That's one small step...." It sounds silly, but I actually got choked up at the climax (moon landing).

| Although this book appears to be biographical fiction for kids, the fiction outweighs the history so heavily that I see very little value in it as a history teaching tool. As a story, the plot is moral and enjoyable enough (if a bit trite) and seemed appropriate for a 2nd or 3rd grader just getting into longer chapter books. If you are hoping to learn a lot about the real Wright brothers, though, look elsewhere. |

| My almost 5 year old son is learning to read rapidly, but there are so few books which he enjoys AND can read well. He was highly motivated to read Wheels, as he adores vehicles of all kinds. The format is very simple (1-2 short sentences per page)and includes plenty of long and short vowel words, as well as "oo" sounds and "igh" sounds. Hardly any words with 2 syllables. |

| We are using this book with our Literature Study. The girls have enjoyed all of Thomas's creativity. We have also gotten to experiment with several of his projects. They are lot of fun! Great book to learn to be more creative in life. |

| Both of my 6 year old and my 2.5 year old sons love this book. They are lovers of anything that goes. They never get tired of looking at the brightly colored photographs and hearing the descriptions of the vehicles. |

| this is a charming book, sure to enthrall the budding builder in your house, with sturdy cardboard tools and their correct counterpoint to engage with, I'd never seen anything like it before. I gave it as a gift to a four year old, so I'm not sure how well it held up in his hands, I enjoyed it though! |

| This is an excellent book for a child with interest in fire fighting and rescue vehicles. My son really enjoys knowing all of the different types of trucks and has gone to the local fire station and identified them for the firefighters! This book is also helpful in the classroom during sections on community workers. |
