| My 3 year old granddaughter loved this book. She quickly caught onto the rhyming of the book and could finish the lines by looking at the illustrations. The book is predictable but, in using the Thanksgiving theme, makes for an interesting book. |

| Considering the present elections, I felt this was an appropriate book to pick instead of the political madness.
When Duck sees unfairness on the farm, he decides to change things (always with the hope of making things easier for himself). He runs for farmer (this is a democratic barnyard) and this political career shoots off from there. | This is one of those books that tells a story with just the pictures. If you have a small child, you are 'explaining' the pictures and adding these words in that is all dialog. At 8pm, I don't want to make up a story around a book. I want to read a book to my kid.
Although the illustrations are cute, I still wish there was more narrative. |

| While searching for a book for my step son, I happened across this book on display. I squeezed myself in one of the kid's chairs and read the book. I loved the story and the illustrations. In a chaotic world, it's simple, sweet tale is one all can enjoy. I later purchased Duck, Duck, Goose from Amazon and enjoyed it just as much. Some stories transcend age and these tales definitely do. Enjoy! |

| This book was recommended in the Wall Street Journal as an excellent read-aloud. Because the WSJ reviews are generally on-point, I purchased it for a future grandchild, thinking it would be an enduring classic. I was sorely disappointed in the story-line and the quality of the writing. This book is merely okay, but nothing that I would recommend as a choice for someone special. There are much better children's books out there. |

| This book is absolutely adorable! If you've read anything else by Tad Hills, you know he has a great sense of humor and the illustrations in this book make our family laugh! They also so clearly demonstrate the opposite that my 2 year old reads this aloud to us, using the pictures as a guide. A wonderful starter book of opposites that is also really fun. |

| This book is too funny! My kids and I love it! Yes, its a short and simple book, but when you start paying attention to details, you realize some of the things hidden in the book. For instance - every time something goes wrong, I have my son find the chicken that saw the problem. And on every "Chickens to the Rescue!" page - there is one chicken that is always asleep on an egg. At the end of the book when the chickens are all asleep - the egg hatches. | THis story is classic. I use this book so much that I have to retire my old copy and replace it with a new one every couple of years. It is a fabulous vehicle for storywriting in the primary classroom. |

| I purchased this book for my 2 year old neice Abby. She couldn't put it down. She especially liked the number 8 page. A simple but effective way to learn to count to 10 with beautiful illustrations and short sentences.
Abby and I are Duck and Goose fans and this one is another hit. We are eagerly awaiting Duck and Goose's next adventure. |

| A great story which teaches a lesson coupled with beautiful and stylish illustrations render this a classic. It's also a wonderful snapshot of another era, both in its content and presentation. They literally don't write them like this anymore.
I have a hard time seeing the racism or the brutality some complain about. My copy shows a 1933 copyright and I seriously doubt that river life on long stretches of the Yangtze river was a whole lot different than it was presented in the book, at least when presented at a simplified level for a ...
