| What a disappointment. I buy these anthologies to get introduced to new authors -- that's how I've discovered new favorites like Angela Knight, Lora Leigh and Nalini Singh. But apart from the J.D. Robb story, which was excellent (a miracle since Nora's books in her Nora Roberts line have gotten so formulaic), I wouldn't read one of the other three author's work, even if I were given the books at no charge. | I read the first 2 books in the Sign of Seven Trilogy, and I only bought the second book because I was hoping that it would be better than the first one, and thus get me hooked on the story but I was in for even more disappointment. I struggled to finish the first book and the second one was even more tedious.
I'm all for books on the struggle between good and evil, and don't mind a little bit of 'spook factor' but these 2 books were just downright creepy and not in a good way. I couldn't even get to care for the characters. ... Read More: |
