| We bought this book for my son (2 years) when I was pregnant with our second child, who was born this past May. While I was pregnant, he wasn't interested in the book and gave a defiant "NO!" whenever I tried to read it- but once the baby came, it quickly became a favorite. My son has it memorized and will "read" it to himself and his baby brother. | This book was clearly written in a different time. Apparently, the only warning that Little Critter had that he was getting a new sister was on the *day she came home*. That's not realistic to how most children today are raised!
It does show a normal, if somewhat idealized reaction to a new baby - Little Critter can't show her his favorite toys, but he *can* let her pull his finger. I was a little disappointed to see the presumably newborn baby left alone in a crib with a bottle - ... Read More: |

| I totally adored Long and Shannon's original book, and by golly this is definitely a worthy sequel! Jeremy Jones seems to be up to a fairly ordinary afternoon keeping an eye on his sleeping baby sister. But then, aye, those crazy, loveable pirates return to dig up their treasure in order to buy a new ship. But those pirates are loud and soon the baby is screaming. | This is the best book we have to talk to our 15 month old about our coming baby. Since there are no words, we are able to use the words we've chosen ("there's a baby hiding inside mommy") for describing what is happening. She often gets up, comes over, and kisses my stomach when we're reading the book (this is not shown in the book).

| I bought this along with the author's previous book, The Kissing Hand for my grandsons in Seattle. The little brother(age 2 and 1/2)was beginning day care and having separation problems. His aunt, my other daughter-in-law who has older children, suggested both books. The sleeper book, A Pocket Full of Kisses turned out to be the favorite of the big brother (age 5)and was selected for show and tell at kindergarten. |

| Cutest big sister book. My 2 year old loves it. The artwork is really good. Would be really great and pertinent for a big sister with about a 5-6 year span from the new baby. |

| THis book is pretty cute. My daughter is 5 and liked it. She wanted me to change the names in the book to read her as the main character. This book tells about little things like small objects and toys to keep away from the baby and what the baby should play with and little details of how important the big sister is too. It also shows a little about how the baby is born. |
