| A friend and I were talking a few months back about Madame Nobel Laureate, Toni, and why we both shake our heads at the dismissal of a truly brave artist such as Alice Walker. So what am I doing on this page other than I couldn't help but give this new, slender novel a read?(--which is exactly what I did over the holidays). | Chelsea Handler writes as if she's your close girl friend telling you a story over a drink at the bar. She's honest and witty as she dead pans her thoughts & reactions to her most ridiculous stories about men. I absolutely loved the book, and recommend it to any girl who's ever needed a night of hooking up for the sake of it. |

| This is an incredible story that most people should read, however, it is not for the faint of heart. There were many times that I had to stop reading because I couldn't focus my eyes through all the tears. Still, the bottom line is that God has a plan for our lives and He can do incredible things through us if we just submit ourselves. |

| My sister gave me this book for Christmas, saying it was one of the best books she had read in some time. I was fascinated by her description, and started the book the next day. I finished it the next morning. I found it eminently readable and fascinating. I was a history major in college, and had no problem with what one reviewer, at least, thought of as "precious turns of phrase." In fact, I hadn't even noticed them. | i WANTED to like it more than i actually did. it was funny at first, but it had no legs. by the end of it, i just thought he sounded stupid. i gave it to my friend, and she thought the same thing. david sedaris is way funnier than stephen colbert, imo. |

| True to its engaging title, which is why I wanted to read it, Roy Blount's Alphabet Juice is indeed full of examples of usage "foul and savory." I like it because I agree so often with what he says about misused and overused words like awesome, just, hopefully, literally, incredible--as well as ungrammatical oral uses of myself, for you and I, and careless contructions with apostrophies seen in print.
