| A very informative description of Chinese contributions, mostly in the area of science. Well written and well illustrated. Purchased for my 9 year old grand-daughter, who I hope someday will become an engineer (preferably electrical). |

| Cymbeline is one of Shakespeare's least performed and least read plays. You do not stumble on it, you work your way through Shakespeare's opus and finally get there. The historical context is the war between Britain and the Roman Empire, and the action is hot and heavy, requiring five acts and twenty-seven scenes. | I am currently interning as a school librarian. I read to second grade, but I think it would appeal to a wider age group as well. Lil is all about books, and the details illustrated by Kellogg are as always, wonderful. My only issue w/the book is the pool table in the tavern. I think the story would have been the same w/an arcade center or pool hall,not a tavern complete w/bartender |

| This is clearly one of Prentice Hall's better efforts. The material in this book is so well developed that it can be used as an additional reference during a precalc course for the algebra element.
Examples are color-coded to show steps. There are lots of sample problems included. The only drawback to this book is the large amounts of photos and drawings that aren't necessary--but these are present in this entire series of math books. The glossary is a big bonus. | i used this book in middle school when i was learning algebra for the first time. My teacher didn't exactly teach us, so i don't know what it's like paired with a good math teacher. by itself, it's ok, but the explanations get confusing sometimes and sometimes they make a lot of hype over little details that aren't as necessary as they make it look. |
