I have been thoroughly entertained by the Clone Series. The Clone Elite, book 3 of the series, takes you to a whole new realm of possibilities. Sorry can't give away any plot twists but I guarantee you will enjoy the read. I Can't wait to see what happens in the next one. If you havn't bought books one and two I highly recommend them all!

TUHOVG is a long and intriguing book that covers the earliest interactive computer experiments and progresses pseudo-chronologically through each major movement up to the start of the new millennium. The account provided for the early years of gaming is particularly detailed and well crafted while the details on gaming history post-80's lacks the same luster. Kent's "History" is more a history of the business decisions and financial climates under which the gaming industry thrived and suffered and much less ... Read More:

When I was in the USMC we were all told about the 'Old Corps', when real men were Marines...not wimps like us in the New Corps. Steven Kent has created a 'New Corps' without men at all, fearless clones. Old Corps or the New Corps Kent gets it right..."Semper Fi' Do and Die!" The good news is that this is a great read, the better news is that there is a sequel, the best news is a series of six.

Wayson Harris is one of the few remaining clones of his kind. He is a liberator clone, bred for fast reflexes and a clear head in a combat situation he is conditioned toward violence and taking out the enemy as fast as possible. His class of clone also does not have the built in death reflex that kills all other clones when they find out what they are, he also is not as conditioned to be blindly loyal to the UA and patriotic as other clones. This has earned Harris a fair share of enemies both in the military and the other feuding ... Read More:

Steven L. Kent's "The Clone Alliance," book three of (so far) four, continues the saga of Liberator Clone Wayson Harris, who was last seen at the end of book two, "Rogue Clone," attempting along with his chum and sometime partner Ray Freeman to return to Earth after the breakdown of the "broadcasting" system after an attack by the enemy Mogats, a group of fanatics who have broken away from Earth's "Unified Authority."

The mission, which seems so doomed, succeeds despite itself, and soon Harris (onstage) and Freeman (offstage ... Read More:

Books : Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds: Prima's Official Strategy Guide
I bought this guide because I love the game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds (I'll assume anyone who reads this will already have played the game so I won't describe it). I recieved an excerpt with my copy of the game which had the chapter on tips on playing the game (times for moving through tech levels, etc.). I was excited, but slightly disappointed to find that a large portion of the guide details how to get through all the scenarios rather then the normal game, which I was more interested in.

There is the (pretty good) story ... Read More:

Books : The First Quarter : A 25-year History of Video Games
As books on gaming history goes, this one is excellent. It does an extremely good job of meshing together concise narrative with compelling quotations from industry luminaries. Mr. Kent does a good job of distilling the chaotic early days of Arcade games and the eventual boom of home video game systems. His gift is for making connections between seemingly disperate events. I have read several books that chronical the early days of Atari, but few of them provide such a rich background as to the influences on Nolan Bushnell and his band of pot smoking, ... Read More:

This is a fabulous book. Most of the essays are well worth your time. It is divided into 3 sections:
The Theory of Bible Translation
The History of Bible Translation
The Practice of Bible Translation
I particularly appreciated the articles by Don Carson and Mark Strauss, in which they interact with criticism of the TNIV, the updated version of the NIV. I like the way that both authors discuss the gender language debate and provide us with useful updates to what they had to say in their helpful books on the subject.

Silva's article ... Read More:
