| I am surprised and disappointed that nobody made a movie out of this novel. For those who don't feel like reading ancient Roman annals and historical ecclesiology, Prof. Maier did a superb job in bringing both into life the first century Rome and its infant, yet vibrant Christian Church from a collection of the most reliable references on the subjects listed in the Appendix. | "In The Fullness of Time" is an updated version of a trilogy on early Christianity written by the historian Paul L. Maier. Part I covers the Christmas story, Part II covers Easter, and Part III takes readers from Pentacost to Nero's persecutions. I had previously read and enjoyed a number of Maier's fictional works and I had high expectations for this non-fiction work. I was not disappointed.

| I happened to come across this book and am very pleased with it. The illustrations are just beautiful and the hard bounding is sure to make it a treasured book. The message inside is inspiring--especially good for an older child who is in the faith. This would make a great book for a child's book report too--there is much information inside that is valuable. Very nice book. I would highly recommend it. |

| I really wanted to like this book. It was highly recommended to me by a close friend. I was fascinated by the premise of the book, but I found the writing to be weak and the ending was easily predictable less than half way through the short book. |

| Having read the complete Bible in the past, reading the works of Josephus helped put some of the events in the old testament into better perspective and opened the door to some new thinking and understanding.
Not particularly an easy read, but then reading the Bible has always been challenging and Josephus' version as put together by the author Paul Maier is challenging as well and very educational. G. D. Villalba |

| I got this book to better explain to the kids the true meaning of Easter, something desparately needed in our culture of giant, chocolate-bearing bunnies. This book was an excellent idea in theory, but (unpopular opinion as I know it will be) the writing was just plain lame. Why does everything have to be "cool" when it's written for children. Ok, Christopher may have had a few good questions, but he also says, "ewwww," when Judas kissed Jesus.
