I am a fourth grade teacher and this book is perfect for teaching various forms of figurative language. There are plenty of opportunities to explore similes, metaphors, onomotopoeia, and personification. The imagery is rich and vivid. Since its language and illustrations are more sophisticated, it captures and holds older students throughout this story making it a treasure for teaching students of all ages.

I just received a copy I ordered for my granddaughter's 4th birthday. What a delight it was to reread the marvelous story of leisure, of fun in simple, everyday activities, and of a young girl's great adventures with her aunt. I was fortunate to have one of those aunt's when I was growing up. This book was a favorite of my daughters when they were young. Now independent women in their 20s, I can find joy in sharing this delightful story, with beautiful illustrations, with my grandchildren.

I bought this book for my niece when she was about one because I live far away from her and travelled frequently. Her mom enjoyed reading it with her especially right before I visited and then I would read it just before I left. It helped a lot. She is now older and we have gone on a few vacations together. I just purchased it for her to give her niece.

This cute follow-up to Clean Your Room, Harvey Moon. Told in rhyme and with the signature, bright artwork of the talented Pat Cummings, the story details a day out with Harvey at the museum. He decides to bring his pet lizard along and you can only guess at the trouble that ensues. Funny, well-written....we liked it.

Pat Cummings has created a great story with expressive and vibrant pictures. I especially liked the thought from Alex's father as he tells why he couldn't stay angry. This is a great way to help kids see through the anger and look at what is really bothering them and learning to deal with it. I teach 2nd grade and this book is right on their level.
