| I discovered this book when one of my students brought it to me. It is the right combination of cute illustrations, slightly irreverent writing, and a simple but terrific message about going beyond your usual routine and what that might bring. It's great for kids of all ages! |

| This is a cute book that features a battle of wills between a children's book illustrator and her cat. The pictures are great, especially after Chester 'improves' them to feature himself. The only problem I had was with the book was how Chester was drawn, as a calico with more than three colors in his coat.

| I love this book! Not only is it hilarious, it is educational. I am a reading teacher and there are so many great ways to use this book in the classroom. It is a wonderful ice breaker at the beginning of the year because as Scaredy Squirrel works to make "the perfect friend" you can use this book to discuss with your kids what they might do to make friends. | I love these books because we live in a "nanny state" world these days where kids are coddled and protected in many ways beyond what I consider to be healthy for a life lived with guts and gusto. Scaredy Squirrel gently mocks this attitude in a way that is funny for both kids and adults. Keep up the Scaredy Squirrel stories. I'll buy every one of them. |

| I'm a children's author and I loved "Chester". He reminds me so much of my cat. It's obvious Melanie is a cat person. I loved Chester so much that I put "Chester's Back" on order so I could read it as soon as it came out. The books made me chuckle, and I'm sure it will be a big hit with the kids and the kittens in all of us. The Chester series has fun drawings that Chester adds to with his red marker, as well as additional comments. I give Chester an A.

| We originally checked this book out from the local library. My son (age 3) loved it so much we decided to purchase it. It is a really cute story about trying to fit in even though you are different. |

| This is the story of Augustine who's moving to the pole. She likes to draw, and uses that talent to make new friends at her new school.
The adult reading the story to a child will have lots of fun too since the author used famous paintings as inspiration for Augustine's art work. (they're listed at the end of the book in case you were unable to identify them all !) This is a little plus for this already adorable book. The illustrations are wonderful. |
