| Both my toddler and grade-school age son enjoy this book - on different levels of course. The pictures are simply beautiful and my toddler just enjoys paging through looking at them - getting the basic idea that a caterpillar becomes a butterfly (maybe). My older son obviously understands more but also enjoys the pictures. You'll get a lot of use out of this one. |

| This is a great book for kids, especially, but for adults as well; I read it and enjoyed it and learned some things I didn't know about our changing climate. It is loaded with facts and information about climate change and global warming. The tightly written text is accompanied by a host of beautiful, glossy photographs as well as numerous charts and graphs. Science terms are both italicized and well defined in the text.

| This book is wonderfully illustrated. Lynne Cherry's style is to put a large picture on
each page surrounded by smaller pictures all relating to the subject. In this book the subject is the course of a river over time and the effects of humanity on its health. The side pictures relate to the people and their lifestyle at the time. The text gives relatively simple explanations of what is occurring on the page. |

| My 4 year old son really loved the story and it became his favorite book for about a whole month. He even wanted to sleep with the book which has not happened with other books. He also wanted it read to him every night for a week straight which was also very unsual.
I really liked the story and I think it has a wonderful message that kids and parents caring for the Earth and trees would enjoy reading. |

| This is a book about an armadillo who wants to travel outside his small world - the
desert area of Amarillo. As he goes along, he sends back postcards of what he sees. He is very ingenious in getting farther and farther away from Amarillo. He eventually makes it to outer space. Cumulatively, the reader ends up with a sense of where we are in the universe. It is a simpler book version of the Powers of Ten movie from many years ago. |

| I was first attracted to this book by the cover art. It depicts a scene with an older man and a young boy looking around the rainforest with wisdom and awe. As it sub-title states, A Tale of the Amazon rain forest, I was not misled. This is a fiction book yet the information is accurate. It displays the plants and tribal life in a typical Amazonian village.
