| I am always on the look-out for children's books that make ME laugh - if by some chance THIS is the book that my child will want me to read 5 million times a day, then I won't have the urge to throw it out of the window at an opportune moment!
It is a loving, sweet and subtle funny book, which I would definitely recommend. |

| A cool, clever and thoughtful book that will have your kids insisting they find all the letters to make a word about emotions. Now how cool is that? Not a typical supermarket checkout line concept book. The sophisticated artwork manages to avoid the usual forced cliches of making faces with letters. | This book is the second in a series, the first also being named, "Dog and Bear." Both books contain small and simple episodes (I don't think they
are complex enough to be called stories) in the lives of Dog and Bear. My granddaughter is 2 and a half and had essentially memorized the first book. | The concept behind this book is interesting but it's art work holds no appeal for my niece. For example, O's representative of an olive is not a beautiful green mediterranean olive but a gray olive that looks more like a rock with a red center. T is a dry looking piece of toast. I like the unconventional choices just not the artwork. |

| My young daughter and I found this book to be thoroughly entertaining. We read and sang and laughed and loved it. "I Had a Rooster" is a wonderful combination of engaging story, colorful artwork, and sing-along songs. My daughter was particularly impressed with the artwork which she dutifully attempted to duplicate. Altogether, a fine book for children. Bravo! |
