| My youngest daughter received this book last year for Christmas. For nearly a year it sat in her room undisturbed. She has recently shown an increased interest in princesses (I think that's standard when you are three) and is now very much in love with this book. Each picture has a Dear Diary entry and several images that you have to look for in the picture. | My daughters eyes were sparkling when I showed her this book. "Cinderella is beautiful" were her exact words. She loves that she looks just like her. I was surprised to find these books on Amazon and have purchased most of the series. This is truly a blessing to our family. |

| This was the best book I bought for my daughter. I love how the end of the story involves Goldilocks listening to her mother in regards to doing her chores, instead of the original story where she runs into the forest, leaving the Three Bears' place a mess. This special twist involves her actually staying to CLEAN UP the mess she had made. Wonderful! Better than the original story! |

| We love the "Jump at the Sun" books. I have bought almost all of them for my 4 year old daughter. She is at the age when she is *so* enchanted with all things "princess," and I am so sick of the lily-white Disney ones. Having these fairy-tales told with African-american characters is a wonderful change. The stories are pretty much as you would remember them -- the only difference is the color of the characters skin. I recommend this book to any little girl ages 2 to 7 -- no matter who she is. ... | My daughter (who can't read yet) LOVES this book, mainly due to the colorful pictures. The two children appearing is interesting, but not enough for my child to be astonished or get in a tizzy over it. There are single parents in this world, and this is a book that does not ignore that FACT. |

| I think this book is great, as usual with Raisin in the Sun. I have a daughter, but think this may be better for boys. (She's at that stage). I really find it quite interesting the amount of negative feedback because of a word here or there. This is part of reality, and with the amount of violence children are being exposed to (inside and outside the home), I do not think one should trash or criticize a book because they (as a parent) rather not explain how life is not roses all of the time to their child. ... | Well, I fully expected this to be sexist. But I really wasn't expecting it to be as creepy as it was. There are all sorts of pseudo-sexual, vaguely Freudian undertones, and REALLY weird mother-wife-boychild relationships:

| I picked this book up for my 8 month old the other day. As a "Bookie Monster" (i.e. "One who passionately devours anything with a cover and pages!") and children's writer, I tend to be choosy over the books I purchase for my daughter; I will spend hours in bookstores previewing potential books and picking them apart: "How on earth does drivel like this get the greenlighted by an editor? I've found four words spelled wrong on the first three pages!"
