| When we were planning our vineyard we needed all the help we could get. From Vines To Wines was one book kept by the bedside for constant reference during the planning and planting stage. (The other book was "Vineyard Simple." The illustrated guide to pruning is exceptionally well done. Now that we've made it through year 1, I find myself going back to the book time and again. | I am a Human Resources Manager. We gave this book to all of the staff managers as a mandatory read. The discussion that took place was great, each manager brought something to the table on how they saw themsevles and real situations in this book. The book is written in such a way that it is an easy read with humor but is still shows the serious side of how we view teamwork. We are now making this book available to all the first line supervisors and support staff. |

| There was so much hype on this book that I expected more. It is not a bad book but I am sure there must be better ones out there on this subject than this. The info is very general. And seems oddly lacking in places. For instance, the resource section in the back seems random and missing things that anyone following the organic or slow food movement would have heard of. | This is a great starter for those wishing to learn more about organic foods. Excellent explanation of the differences between organic and conventional agriculture processes. Also includes summaries of many organic crops and products, what to look for, and how to use them. This is a wonderful reference book that I use almost daily. |

The rest of the book talks about wine in general. The cellaring chapters were very detailed and answered all of my questions. The other 3/4 of the book was interesting and covered your basic intro to wine information.
