| My daughter loved this book. She enjoyed how Steve turns trash into treasure. She laughed out loud at his silly creations. I like the fact that the book promotes recycling.
Her fifth birthday is coming up and I am have been asked to read her favorite book to her class at school for her birthday. | Janet S. Wong(1962-) was born in Los Angeles. She graduated from UCLA with her B.A in history and then Yale Law School. She worked at Universal Studios Hollywood as a lawyer. However, she changed her career from a lawyer to a writer for children's literature. Janet has achieved many successes as a result of her career change, and she and her books have received many awards and honors. | If I hadn't known anything of Janet Wong, I would never have noticed this book based on the title. In fact, people who saw me reading it thought I must be really bored to pick it up. Don't be fooled! It's worth the time and money to check it out. Because the poems are simple and real, I use them in my classroom with 5th and 6th graders. |

| This is one of the most beautiful poetry books I have read in a long time. Yes, the illustrations are incredible, but they just accompany the great poetry. My children love to have this book read to them at bedtime, and I love to read it to them. I like the way the poems make my voice sound magical. I like the way the room feels as we listen to them. When the book is done, my children and I feel peaceful. My favorite poems are 'Night Garden' and 'The Ones They Loved Most'. Thank you Janet Wong for a new family treasure. |
