| Now that I have discovered the series of Eyewitness Books that I once purchased for my son when he was young (Can't believe he's beginning his senior year in college!), I enjoy going over them and reflecting on the value of this series for younger readers.

| DK Publishing created the "Eyewitness Books" series for young readers. This volume does a fine job presenting information about pyramids for the stated audience. The writing is pitched appropriately for younger readers. As with all entries in the series, the illustrations and photos are wonderful.

| I purchased this book because my 6 year old son was fascinated with Egypt. However, I would not recommend this book for a child of this age. The mummies are real in this book and there are a lot of them. It was even hard for me to stomach. As always, DK has illustrated a beautiful and detailed book-it was just the subject that was a little hard. |

| I bought this book used on a whim, but am happy I did. In about an hour and a half, we (well, I should say mostly I) were able to create the pyramid and temple structure almost exactly as it is shown in the picture. The caveat: My daughter is six, and I thought that we could do the project together. Unfortunately, the folds and insertions require some finesse: About 10 minutes into the project, my daughter decided that she would rather do some coloring.
