| She doesn't need to be able to read to know what things she's looking for, and the items aren't quite as well hidden as in the "I Spy" books, which makes this very appropriate for the younger crowd.

| Any of the 1001 things to spot books are wonderful! My twins girls have several of them and they can sit for the longest time playing with these books. They help with identifying objects, counting, color recognition, patience etc. I highly recommend them and we give them to their friends at Chirstmas and birthday parties. I haven't found them in any bookstores, I've only found then online. Moms, get your kids one of these books, you won't be sorry!! |

| This book has cheerful, imaginative illustrations that depict scenes from various time periods through history---from a market in ancient Mesopotamia to the drive-in movies of the 1950's. | We love books like this. In fact, we keep I Spy books in the bathrooms and the car. I have an "I Spy" date with the preschooler every Wednesday after we drop off at school. So I'm familiar with how my family reacts to this genre.
This book should have been a winner -- all these scenes and a little learning on the side... I figured it would be a hit. But it just doesn't grab us, and instead I recommend the I Spy or Can You See What I See books, with photography by Walter Wick. Happy looking! |

| I love the content of this encyclopedia. The pictures and illustrations are beautiful. However, the book started to fall apart just after two weeks of modest use. The poor binding makes what could have been an excellent reference book a last choice. I found out that many of the Usborne encyclopedias for upper elementary grades are published in soft cover with cheap binding. I don't understand why Usborne would publish reference books without the consideration of durability. |

| The "1001 things to spot" series by Usborne has been a huge hit in our family with both our boys. Each book in the series has a number of pages with things to look for in the pictures (1001 in total over the entire book). They keep kids entertained for hours and are also great for teaching counting and for building vocabulary.

| Bought this book for my daughter's 5th birthay and she loves it. We have been through the book a couple of times and she is still enjoying it, we still have to search for the items. Some look and find books become too easy once you find the items the first time, but these are challenging for my daughter every time we read it. I am going to buy her more of these books for Christmas. |
