| My son is obsessed with planets. This text is good and the artwork is nice. But a new edition needs to come out to explain that Pluto is no longer considered a planet. We have to read the book and then explain that to him afterwards. |

| I bought this book for my grandson who just started second grade. He said science was his least favorite subject. He was reading the book by himself when I visited. He loves to read and he likes the book. |

| This is by far the best short treatment I've read on moon phases for kids. The illustrations and explanations are clear and understandable, and my five -year-old is able to "wrap his brain around" the idea of the moon rotating around the earth rotating around the sun...not the most intuitive concept around. In most other similar books I've looked at, they seem to assume you can already picture it in your head...this one adds the viewers' perspective in addition to the plantet's. Very helpful. |

| Since we have moved to the South from California, my 5 year old has been a little frightened of thunder and lightning. This book explains what creates thunder and lightning in language a child of her age can understand. I highly recommend any book in this series. |

| I found this book to be extremely informative while explaining how magnet work in a way my 3 year old granddaughter understands while learning myself!!
The pictures are awsome, and keeps any age children's attention. All of the books in the Lets-Read-and-Find-Out Science series have been a valuable tool in teaching and entertaining in my home. |

| This is a nice book to read aloud to those in the range of 4-8 years, and could be read by a 2nd-grader. The book does a good job explaining the water cycle, condensation, evaporation, the formation of clouds, hail, etc. It's easy to understand and enjoyable to read. The illustrations are wonderful also. There are practical illustrations and activity suggestions, like putting a teaspoon of water on a plate to evaporate, boiling water on the stove, or filling a glass of water with ice to away condensation. ... | My [...] is learning so much so quick I thought this book would be perfect for her and it is. It has a lot of information that I would not have been able to explain on my own without some help and also has some activities in it that my daughter is able to do with me as well. |

| My 3 1/2 year old has so many questions about everything - and its hard to find good books on some of the topics. They are either oversimplified or too complex. This book is amazing ! It provides a thorough explanation of the topic, while its simple enough for a child to understand. It's just a well thought out book. I just found a ton of other books by this author on a variety of topics - which we'll be getting for birthdays and holidays in the near future. |

| i thought this would be a book about stars! (not surprisingly, given the title). it's actually a book about constellations. it talks about seeing pictures in stars and lists a few common constellations and when to look for them. it has pretty much no information on stars themselves. i wasn't surprised that my daughter wasn't particularly interested. why not have a book about stars---red dwarves, blue giants, black holes, galaxies, etc instead!? argh! wasted opportunity. |
