| My first grader, a very visual learner, loves this book. He asks for history first thing every morning because we use this book as our primary resource to study prehistory. To be precise, pages 12-101 offer a highly visual overview from the birth of the Earth to the first farmers.

| This book is a GREAT resource for your family. Your kids will love the pictures and facts scattered throughout the pages. It is well organized, colorful, and full of information. My kids are 9, 8, and 6 and have all benefitted from having this book at home. This book makes reading assignments fun! Great for homsechoolers, and the internet links are terrific. Even as an adult, I have enjoyed reviewing the stuff I learned when I was in school as a child.

| It's great to have the use of the internet, but having an actual book in front of you to hold and read and flip through the pages is so much more appealing to me. This is a great starter encyclopedia for children to have from age 7 and up. It's great for homeschoolers also. | I bought this for my daughter who is in kindergarten and loves science. We read a chapter every night and she loves it. It is educational for her, and we learn a lot, too. One warning, though. There is a chapter on reproduction. It doesn't get too specific but it did prompt A LOT of questions from my daughter. "But how do the sperm get to the egg?" So, be prepared! All in all, a great, informative book that she can continue learning from for many years. |

| Although meant for children, I find myself dazzled by this small Usborne book. It is packed with lush illustrations, simple text, and facts. It is a great starting point for learning medieval world history, although it also covers the Dark Ages and the rise of Christianity. A fine book, highly organized and highly recommended. |
