| Excellent book, and a great resource and compilation that "pulls it all together."
However, I decline to give Blume 5 stars, due to his propagation of the myth of "global warming," the silly farce built on junk science. Still, the book is well worth it, and there are many other wonderful reasons to use clean-burning alcohol as fuel in your vehicle. |

| Reading this book is sort of analogous to having a days-long therapy session; this is something I see as both a strength and a weakness. I don't think many people would deny Chabon's strength as a storyteller, but, like Quentin Tarantino's movies, his single-minded obsessions often come out as stronger than the characters would have realistically experienced them. | That's the book I'm describing in my review title above, though it could apply to Sarah Vowell herself. This collection of essays is the best kind of historical musing; Sarah ties in the past with the present, and weaves her own biographical comedy around it all.

| I was a bit skeptical when I bought this book as it is a book about the Ghost Recon franchise by Ubisoft/Tom Clancy. Why? The Ghosts are the best of the best of the American Special Forces. They use the most advanced, not to mention expensive, equipment in the world, and they use it with great efficiency and lethality.
