| I'm turning 38 next year, and I humbly admit that the whole idea of saving and investing only sank in a couple of years ago (this was when I made my first mutual fund investment, out of impulse!). I've learned about the Beauty of Compounding a long time ago, but I guess my brain wasn't wired enough to see its real-life application. I've had good jobs, and have made good income on the side, but I have never thought of consciously putting at least a dollar away for my future.

| I would love to give this work a higher rating than 3 "stars." Carnegie is a very important figure from the late 19th and early 20th century, someone whose life story reveals much about his times. Like Rockefeller, he could practice, or at least countenance, some very tough, self-focused business practices, yet at the same time engage in incredible works of charity towards others. | This is my 2nd Rosenfelt book and I've enjoyed them both very much. I'll be reading more by him.
His mysteries have clever plot lines with numerous twists and turns that keep you guessing to the very end. I like that his characters, though seriously flawed in various ways, carry on in good and positive spirits. No dark, brooding characters, no complex psychological traumas, or no crazed or obsessive addictions. | With the 4th book in the series Andy Carpenter's witty observations, love of his dog, relationship with Laurie, as well as his springing rabbits from hats to get his clients off all don't seem as fresh and compelling as they were in the firsr couple of books. The continuing cast of characters are comforting in their familiarity, but Andy and company seem to lack some kind of edge compared to other series. Maybe Laurie returning to her childhood home and Andy seeing other women will add some interesting aspects to the next few adventures. ... Read More: |
