| the book eldest i realy like and have read more thsn once ,but the other day i went on vacation and thought hay ill get eldest on cd and listen to it on the drive. the guy who is readen the book has one of the most annoying voices ive ever heard and he makes eragon sound like a fag and saphira is a female dragon not yoda. |

| I first read this book after a bunch of hype in Middle school and rather liked it. The thing that bothered me about this book was that is was a bit "over-seasoned," and it seemed like Paolini was full of himself. Anybody who gives this book such high shining praise needs to take a second look. I do take note that a lot of reviewers who gave this book five stars have read many other fantasy books, and if they enjoyed it, its fine...

| When I review Eragon I wrestle with bitter envy. I'm a home schooled fantasy lover who has been writing since a young age. | i know on here are more bad reviews then good ones but im halfway now and i admit that i really like this book and though it might not live up to lord of the rings. its still not that bad. |

| I had never heard of any of these books til my son went to Wal-Mart w/ my mother and came home w/ the paperback version. He loves anything that has to do w/ Dragon's and stuff. He was right at the end of the book when the movie came out and the book fell apart on him. He hurried up and gathered all the pages and finished reading it so I would buy him the movie when it came out on DVD. | I am truly perplexed as to how such a book can be a best seller, even among children's books...
Mix the Belgariad (the peasant boy with a mysterious background and a blue circle on his hand) with the Dragonriders of Pern (defenders of civilisation with a psychic connection to flying dragons), add a few elves and just about every single plot cliché you can find in the fantasy genre (impossible love with an elf,et cetera, et cetera and yes, it will probably be "revealed" that Eragon is the son of Big Bad Guy or, ...
