| ISBN 0439104815 - Normally, I've got to read a book to know how I'm going to rank it, but this one was so very clearly original, just based on the cover, that I had high hopes for a 5 star book. Working my way through a shelf full of holiday books is turning out to be a pleasant experience and The Christmas Crocodile was a great start to the Christmas titles!

| It isn't funny or entertaining in the least. Our daughter (almost 4) is good at getting the jokes that are aimed at her age, did not understand why this boy's mother had abandoned him. I had to explain what was happening. The mother depicted in the book represents a truly poor parent by dumping her son with some aunt in a department store basement while she spends an extraordinary amount of time shopping for luxury stuff for herself.
