This book was written by an angry person. That was the impression I received from reading it. I also thought the woman was treated unfairly by the courts and her husband. I am happy to hear it all worked out in the end for everyone.

As daughters, we tend to forget that our parents, mother in this case, was young once and had passionate feelings just like us. Three daughters are brought together, by their mother, to learn about her youth and lost love. Also, once the secret is brought into the light, their childhood makes much more sense. They had felt their mother was cold to them and their father. They didn't know how marriages were handled when her parents were young and what was expected of young women in a different time. All in all, a ... Read More:

My 9 year old son loved this book! He read the entire book in 2 days. The fact that the boy in the book died as a result of a bicycle accident that may have been prevented if he had worn a helmet, made a huge impact on him. He makes sure he and his brothers always wear their helmets-that alone is worth the price of the book ten-fold!

Books : The Hand of the Poet: Poems and Papers in Manuscript
There is something magical about seeing well known and loved poems in the poet's own hand... this book provides an interesting insight into the works of a good number of well-known poets. A must-have for those who read poetry with more than just a passing interest, this book is also a good starting point for biographical information. Nice photographs, and, when necessary, captions transcribing the poets' sometimes illegible handwriting make this book a gem. Perfect for browsing.

6.ZUCCHINI by: Barbara Dana

Books : ZUCCHINI
The book, Zucchini, was an excellent book. Zucchini had a great personality. We liked the author's message that you should follow your dreams and have courage. We especially liked it when Miss Vasell cried at the ending. We also liked that Zucchini was very honest and went back and let out Arnold the Crow. This is a great book for reading group.

7.Visualizing Geology by: Barbara W. Murck, Brian J. Skinner, Dana Mackenzie

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Books : Visualizing Geology
Visualizing Geology was written as a textbook for introductory college geology. I read it for enjoyment and was delighted with the book's organization and style. The authors have a remarkable understanding of what a neophyte (like me) will comprehend and find interesting. They augment comparatively brief descriptions with outstanding photos, diagrams and drawings. The result is a quick and clear presentation of concepts and phenomena. Particularly wonderful is the section on metamorphic rock. The pictorial approach is at its best ... Read More:

Books : Young Joan
First of all, i'm not religious but i still read this book expecting a decent adventure, drama, religion etc. novel and what did i get: an EXTREMELY slow-paced about some farm girl who talks to God.

My biggest complaint of the story is, as stated, extremely slow-paced. Every chapter seemed so irrelevant that it was painful to read. Throughout the story, there were some foreshadowing e.g. the girl who'll save France. In my opinion, the story should have started in the midpoint of the story. The beginning was just to random ... I have always been a reader of Emily Dickinsons poems and for the most part any new book that comes out I usually buy. But Wider Than the Sky was such a timely one my Mother died and my job ended all within a 3 week period. So the essays and poems were a tremendous comfort. So often Emily speaks for me and she's been here for me during this period of mourning. This book is a great read.
