It is basically a revised version of The Hebrew Scriptures: The Biblical Story of God's Promise to Israel and to Us (High School Textbooks), and is designed for a one-semester course for 9-11th grade students. This basically brings to life the Old Testament stories, and the new version gives an added emphasis to the spiritual content of the Old Testament.

| First of all, this book is NOT on the recommended list of formation books that has been put out by the US Bishops even though it is widely used by many catholic schools. Even though its doctrine is sound, its approach to teaching our faith may be confusing to teens. It has a "we understand what it is like to be a teen" mentality.
