- Worst Commercial Email Provider in the 3rd Dimension
I have been a .mac user the first day they announced it. It was free back then.
.Mac, now Mobile Me or as I would like to call it, Kill-Me, is the worst email product I have ever used. Worse than hotmail, yahoo, and yes, worse then your local ISP mail. Reliability is horrendous, customer support is non-existent, and if it wasn't for the fact changing my email is a pain in the donkey, I would've ditched this witch long long time ago.
Save the money and buy some AAA batteries instead. At least you will know what you are getting and count on it to work 24/7.

I am a VERY unhappy MobileMe customer.
I was a happy .mac user for years. Then happiness came to a sudden halt when MobileMe was "pushed" on us. I can no longer access my email at work (company has not yet upgraded to IE 7 and can not install other browsers). But perhaps worst of all, loss of data and email for weeks on end! Clearly Apple had no disaster recovery plan in place, and it took weeks for them to even admit to a problem. Unacceptable.
Convenient customer service is also non-existent for this product. There is no one to call on the phone. The email support was at first hidden and now completely removed. Your only options are to wait forever to "chat" online with someone who won't be able to help. Obviously "mobile" people have all the time in the world to wait around and "chat" with a MobileMe customer no-service rep!!!
The concepts behind this product is definitely the future. But Apple's execution is embarrassingly bad. Even if (and when) Apple works out the bugs, MobileMe is still one of the cheesiest product names in recent memory! Who wants to be stuck with a @me.com email address? Seriously Apple, @me.com is the best you could do?!? Not only unprofessional sounding, it is about as chic as @aol.com.
If you are still wanting to purchase this product despite the bad reviews, please do yourself a favour and wait a few months. At the very minimum, hold off your purchase until you get a good nights sleep first.

This product has been nothing but a BIG disappointment. From having my email inaccessible for more than 5 days to being told to drive to an apple store for support that could not be resolved by an apple genius, MobileMe has been nothing less than a nightmare. I would recommend using an alternative free services from Google.

Well, I have been a .MAC user since 2004. For the first couple years I rarely used the account. But about a year ago, I made the complete transition to MAC and tossed my Exchange Server. Once I started using the the iPhone, I couldn't wait for wireless synchronization.
MobileMe introduced that recently. Well, my MM mail hasn't worked in five days. Apple does NOT provide any phone support for this service. You wait for hours to get to "chat" with someone.
I have been an avid Apple supporter and user of their products. Stay away from this garbage. It's just a headache.

It is important for me to access my email from any computer. Same for you?
Don't consider this product if email access is important as it does not work with Windows Explorer 6. At my workplace, like many of you, downloads are not allowed so I have no way to access my mail at work nor at any remote computer not using the Apple preferred browsers. Firefox and Safari....not much of a chance of finding those browsers on workplace or remote computers like at a hotel.
Time to dump my long time mac.com account with Apple. No longer a product that meets my needs.
