- MobileMess - Dont' Buy
I have been a loyal Apple customer for 5 years and couldn't me more disappointed than I am today with MobileMe. This application has crippled the Apple user community and is far less useful than expected. It is not fully integrated and not a replacement for any Blackberry. Calendars are not integrated with email, and you cannot send invites out via the Calendar application. It's just terrible. And two weeks into the launch and our email is still not consistently available.

Horrible! Absolutely horrible. I've been using .mac since 05. I've now been without email for 7 days! 7 DAYS! Apple refuses to comment other than "We're working on the problem". I'm not alone, there's another 20,000 of us in the same boat.
It will be awesome - eventually. For now, there's just too many issues with the service. I've been an Apple advocate for a long time. MobileMe by far is one of Apple's greatest rollout failures. If you need push email, calendars, contact lists and a web interface to boot, I suggest using a hosted Exchange server from AppRiver or another Exchange Hosted service.
I'm saddened by this. I was really excited about MobileMe but for now, stay away from this offering until Apple gets the kinks worked out.

Im a long time supporter of apple but in this case APPLE has abandoned support for the (vastly more than acknowledged) 1% of its customers who havent gotten their email in 7 days as of today (7/25/08). There are now 75,000 discussion threads on apple support detailing the problem: http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=960&start=0
Dont even think of buying this product untill Apple formally acknowledges and fixes the situation. I would hope for nothing less than a full page apology in the NY times from the company that I used to believe in. C'mon Apple, show us that you still care and we will, might forgive you.

I think this service has some promise, but it's honestly not even qualified to be a beta. I've never felt more cheated by a major computer company before. At least the people in the Apple Store should take off their stupid "Ask me about MobileMe" buttons and stop pushing this on people.

I've been a fan of .Mac since 2003, and i rushed to try the new mobileme service, but, for my surprise, something went wrong with the migration from .Mac to mobileme and i'm unable to access my .me email for 7 days now.
I use mobileme as my main working address and been without email for 7 days has really hurt my work as a professional. Apple state that the service will be up and running ASAP, to fix an email service, 7 days and counting is not normal and seems clear to me that Apple did act irresponsible in the migration of the service.
In my opinion this is not a reliable service for professionals, but i will keep it for showing photos to my family.
