Software : Quicken 2008 Deluxe [OLD VERSION]

I currently am using 2005 with no problems. I was advised to up grade since downloads would not be supported, which I was about to do. After reading the reviews it seems apparent the downloads are defective and an upgrade would be counterproductive. Thanks for the reviews, I think I will 'pass' on this and start looking for alternative software.

We upgraded to a new computer with windows vista and it did not come with any software like this, our old computer had come with microsoft money, which I used and liked. When it came time to find a financial software for my new computer, I was going to continue with a new microsoft money software, but the reviews on the new versions didn't sound promising, so I decided to try Quicken and have been very satisfied with this software. I haven't had a chance to go through everything yet such as : - I haven't downloaded financial information directly into Quicken - only because I don't wish to do so. I enter all information manually - but the product works great for what I want to do. I would recommend this to others.

- Problems with Portfolio Tracking
I am a long time Quicken user and have been pretty happy with it until I was forced to upgrade to Quicken 2008 in order to be able to continue downloading my transactions. Since that point there have been major problems with the portfolio portion of the product. These include the online portfolio being unavailable entirely, quotes not being updated for days on end, stocks with one character symbols not working, etc. The problems have been going on for months and Quicken does not seem concerned about resolving them. Quicken is working fine as far as handling my checking account. If you're looking for something to track your investments though, I'd look elsewhere.

Quicken 2008 is exactly as advertised. I've installed it and it works great. I could not manage my operation without it. I'd gladly upgrade whenever that time might come because of my confidence in the product.
Rating: - Don't upgrade from 2007-- not worth the money
I paid the $50.00 to upgrade from 2007 to 2008, and if I could go back again I would not pay 50 cents for it. It's pretty much the same thing with a few new features, all of which I fail to see the utility.
This program is on the way down. I sometimes think it would be easier just to use Excel. You can make better reports and graphs, and at least you can customize them. Next year, I'm waiting for another program, and so should you.
