Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - A good DVD for a rental, but not good enough for a purchase
When I was young I always loved watching National Geographic videos that talked about wildlife, people and the Earth itself and how all of this ecosystem interacts with each other. I also loved the series that BBC has made about lions, cheetahs and panthers. It is difficult not to like those educational films even for this generation's youth.

This film, however, incorporates the documentary and fictional plot together to try to make a good family film. The plot itself appears to be a little rushed, perhaps but stable enough to watch the entire movie without taking a lot of the so-called "bathroom breaks". I know that this is a sequel to continuous series of similar films. I have not seen the previous release known as "Tiger" but I heard that the movies share one thing in common - the big cat (the main character, also the protagonist) is always named Macos. I have to assume that the name has a significant meaning in some ancient African tribe language but the movie and its previous versions does not do good job at explaining the name or the origin.

So, we have this cat whose name is Macos the Leopard. It's a beautiful leopard indeed, with shiny and reflective fur, polished tail and a beautiful overall look. Macos is born in a secret wildlife center with many difficulties along the way. We see see how the doctors struggle to get him up and running with all the other cats but Macos simply cannot accomplish the goal. He struggles, suffers. He was scheduled to be released in an African savanna but because of all these health difficulties after birth the release date has been delayed by long time, a few months. Meanwhile the workers of the wildlife center tell the curious public that the little Macos is simply learning and verifying his steps to survive after his release.

They release him but unfortunately he was still not strong enough to rule the jungle. Right after his release he has been infected with many bugs who tortured him brutally (and still did even at the end of the film), drinking his blood and making him suffer. The wildlife workers would of loved to catch and help him but he is already out in the wild! The rest of the movie shows the wildlife doctors trying to send him little crates of meat with medicine in it from a helicopter, to help him kill all the bugs but because of all the difficulties and pressure they are only able to issue two (2).. just two of these crates. They were preparing to send in the 3rd but the DVD simply will not play the rest. So I never got to see the end.

The overall look and feel of the DVD is great but it will not play the rest of the movie even with the disk wiped clean. If the producer decides to issue an update to this version of the movie with the rest of Macos's struggle (and hopefully a happy ending) then I will happily recommend this movie for purchase but until then its only worth a rent.

While the producers are trying to get everything sorted out I would recommend you to see the previous versions of the film, like I will. All of them (or most) have happy endings - at least thats what the reviews say. Let's see what will develop.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great OS with a lot of new features well worth !
I believe this is a well worth upgrade .... Im loving OSX Leopard a lot new features ... I wont be naming all the in and outs .... but I only can say that this is the best OS so far ...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Leopard..was nervous but had no problems
I am so dependent on my two Mac's that I hesitate to install a new operating system until the bugs are out - especially after I read a lot of problems on the apple.com customer reviews. However, my apprehension was unecessary; I put Leopard on my MacBook and had no problems at all. Now, do you really need 10.5? There are no new features so astounding as to make 10.4 totally obsolete. But Time Machine is useful and smooths the path to regular backups, so important for a notebook. Also, take a look at Time Capsule, Apple's hard drive / higher speed wireless router - backs up all the Macs in your home network with no attention. That is a step forward and requires 10.5.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Impressed
I was able to purchase this through Amazon and saved a lot of money. Also, it arrived faster than expected. I have been working in computers since the late 60s and this is my first Apple, I was impressed as to how easy it was to upgrade to Leopard. At first I hated the differences between the Mac and the PC, now I don't even use my PC any more. I love everything about it and the more I work with it, the more fun I have.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Leopard has a few rough spots...but worth it for Time Machine.
Honestly, I don't know why I bothered with Leopard. Seemed like a good idea at the time. And I was intrigued by the Time Machine feature (which I will say is worth it in and of itself). My main beef with Leopard is the slow startup time. I have a Macbook, which I purchased three months before Leopard came out. So it is relatively new and has plenty of memory. However, I too fell prey to the Blue Screen of Death upon startup. Thankfully, it didn't stay there for an eternity like some Leopard users have experienced. Rather, it would startup, then go to a blue screen with a cursor in the corner, sit there for about a minute or two, and then go to my desktop. After reviewing the Mac forums, I did "Archive and Install" twice, to no avail. Eventually I called Mac tech support...they had me take the battery out, start it up a billion times, tinker with this, that and the other and finally, said the blue screen is "normal." Oh well. So much for Leopard. I figure it's worth it for Time Machine alone, but otherwise, it's nothing to write home about.
