Their marketing materials state this is an appropriate magazine for young girls ages 9-14, yet a recent issue had a large feature article on teenage pregnancy as well as articles on the cast of Gossip Girl. Have you seen this show? My daughter certainly hasn't as it deals with high schoolers having sexual relationships with multiple partners, underage drinking, 14 year olds in night clubs, suicide, drugs... Now that she is 13 and in middle school it is time for this magazine. I don't think that kids need to date or have boyfriend/girlfriend relationships but they do have to learn to get along with the opposite sex. When the annual magazine sale came around last year, GL was listed as "the only magazine for Girl Scouts", ages 10-15. When the first issue arrived, I flipped through it and was very disappointed with what I saw.
