It has a cute story and they enjoy lifting the flaps. Rating: - Great little book!This is such fun for my two year old grandson! It is tough enough to last through many readings, and he is fascinated by opening each one of the little doors as we read through it. At this age, he probably does not really "get" the story line, but he loves the surprise of each little door opening, and saying the name of the animal. Rating:  - Another simple, repetitive story for little ones!Children like a repetitive structure because it helps them understand what's going on and predict what will happen next. (For that matter, adults like it too! Repetition is a crucial part of traditional storytelling and modern-day speechifying.) This one is about a child who wrote to the zoo for a pet and, being a zoo, they sent him/her all manner of exotic, but unsuitable animals before finally hitting on a puppy.
