All of the movies released so far are excellent. I see that other reviewers have covered the story line very well, so I will not. Just let me say that all are very well done, with minor imperfections. The main problems are only two. The first problem is that the books are so massive that pieces have to be left out, this is a shame but I do think that to make a 4 hour movie of these books would make them very tiring to sit through. I had thought of maybe making a part 1 and then 2 but this would ... Read More:

Although I am not the greatest Harry Potter fan in the world I have always enjoyed the film series and thankfully this film continues this trend. The Order of the Phoenix sees the dark lord Voldemort gathering his forces but with the Ministry of Magic refusing to acknowledge his return Harry and his friends must defy the Ministry in order to prepare for the coming war. Complicating matters is Ms Umbridge, the Ministry appointed Defence from the Dark Arts teacher, who is willing to do anything for the ... Read More:

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's follow-up to The Office was burdened with the weight of how to succeed one of the most popular sitcoms in recent years. Arguably, they have made an even better series.

The Extras follows the fortunes of two struggling bit-part actors and their life on the fringes of stardom: talking to Patrick Stewart as he describes his secret project, in which all the female participants' clothes fall off ("So it's a comedy?" "No."), or Sir Ian Mckellen revealing the secret ... Read More:

I was well exited to buy the Blue Ray Box Set of the Harry Potter movies and couldn't wait for them to arrive. I already owned the first 3 Harry Potter movies on DVD and thought, that I was saving money in the long run - as Blue Ray is High Def. The Box Set finaly arrived and I got my children together in order to watch the first installment. But what a "horror" it turned out to be - a picture quality of a DVD! I even double checked if I put in the DVD Version by accident, but to my utter disapointment, I didn't. ... Read More:

I haven't read the fourth book yet, so can't make any comment about how true the plot runs. However, what struck me most about this film, is how much the pupils of Hogworts seem to have grown up! They're moody, argumentative, and when Ron told Harry to 'p*** off' I had to rewind to make sure I'd heard him correctly! Its clearly aimed more at an older audience, as the first three films were much more child friendly - I'm not sure if I like this turn of direction, and I certainly wouldn't recommend this one for younger ... 'David Copperfield', is, by all respects, a brilliant story. It is partly autobiographical, but this gives the story an extra layer. The story of a man's development from boyhood to man is nothing new, and Dickens' novel sets his tale apart because of his emphatic understanding of human nature. This adaptation however, is fairly pedestrian in its handling of human emotions. Trevor Eve is perhaps, a little OTT and there is very little depth to his character, whilst I could say the same to Emilia Fox and Zoe Wannamaker.

The picture quality and sound is vastly improved over the standard definition version and at these plummeting prices, it's definitely worth owning. I've watched it several times now as I was blown away by the Hi Def picture.
Fingers crossed that Warner Brothers will back track and release all the future Harry Potter movies on HD DVD.

Eyewitness descriptions last saw Lieutentant Kipling attempting to bind his wounded face with a muddy hankerchief, scrabbling around in the mud for his glasses.

I mean no disrespect to David Haig - I believe his original play did not shrink from the hard truth - however such details are obviously deemed unsuitable for a TV audience, coddled with the prurient drivel of Hollywood action movies.

Show us the truth, show us the real truth.
Show us a youth dying with half his face shot away.
And ask why people need ... Read More:

The third film in the series, this is by far the darkest up to this point. Whilst the imagery is stunning, and the clever twist at the end is well executed, for many hardcore Potter fans, the changes to some of the story lines and the character traits don't go down very well. This is still a good effort though, and you can always read the book if you want to fill in some of the gaps (recommeneded, as it actually enhances your enjoyment of the film if you do). A great addition to the first two Harry Potter films.

DVD : Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire [2005]
Upto now I have quietly enjoyed the first 3 movies although they were nothing special. In previous reviews I gave all of them 3/5 and to be honest up until the final 20 minutes I was about to award the same for 'the Goblet of Fire'. The finale' certainly makes this film and we see Lord Voldermort at his evil best. Actually, it is a darker more absorbing film than the others and carries on in a similar vien to 'The Prisoner of Askaban'. The downside to this film is that it does drag on for a bit but that doesnt really bother you until you watch it again. ... Read More:
