| Wood Harris and Mekhi Phifer put in solid performances but this is a familiar story. Harris plays Ace, a working man in 80s Harlem. His delivery duties lead him to stumble across a Cuban drug trafficker who senses some potential in him and sets him up as a wholesale kingpin in the neighbourhood. | I held off buying this movie for three years. I'd loved the Nadesico series which was hilarious and dramatic and imaginative but read some reviews of how it was different to the series and how not all the characters were portrayed as they should have been and how it lacked humour.
I shouldn't have paid the reviews any mind. As usual with this being the movie of a series, the animation is superior to that in the original series and very good indeed. That's the first good thing. ... Read More: |
