| This films like an old car. Has some major faults,its embarrassing but you find yourself liking it (some of the time).
Its way over the top. Everyone in it is annoying. CGI racing is dull (you'd be better of playing Burnout). The races are spoilt by people or things flashing across the screen every few seconds. | If ever there was a movie to show off Blu Ray, this is it.
The film is apparently based on an old Japanese TV show that made it to the west. I dont remember it at all. It's about a family called Racer and the son is called Speed, hence Speed Racer. It's also a film about very fast race cars, but dont think of Silverstone, think more of your old toy TCR race cars with loops, twists and perhaps the occasional concealed weapon. | For me,Johnny Depp makes this film.The storyline is absolute nonsense and borders on comedy.Not unlike,Hound of the Baskervilles.However,Depp carries you thro' with superb acting.I would neither encourage nor put anybody off seeing this film. |

| Used to watch this all the time when I was a kid - bought it recently and after 5 years of not watching, it was like revisiting an old friend. This is the kind of movie that makes you feel happy for days - essential. |

| I was never a fan of Casper until I watched this movie. It is great fantasy and good acting from everyone including Christina Ricci. A good film for all the family. I also recommend the dvd "Casper meets Wendy". |

| This is far superior to the first movie and to any other adaptation since. I can never decide what is best... following Uncle Festers storyline or the kids at camp, but why settle when the two merge so well in this easily quoted sequel.
Every line is a classic, and watching it again when your old enough to 'get' all the jokes that flew by you as a kid makes you appreciate it more. If you were a fan as a child, buy it.
