| This was a really great series, and probably what I most enjoyed about it was how interesting the most unexpected people were. I mean, Barbara Windsor I expected to be interesting, but what a revelation they saved for the end. And the stuff you learn! Why was drunkenness so common in the 19th century and earlier? Because there was a lack of fresh, drinkable water, so the only liquid you could trust was beer! For many that still holds true. But anyway, a really fascinating series that gives great insight ... | Having received Series 1 as a Christmas gift from my sister (prompted by me!) I realised that I had to buy Series 2 to quench my thirst for more! With two little boys aged 5 and 2, I was very much looking forward to showing them my favourite childhood show from my girlhood more than 20 years ago. I was thrilled that they sat still, glued to the television for each episode without any fidgeting. | this film isn't exactly what i would call a real classic. sure, it has all the usual actors but it doen't any humourous moments, like some of the other films in the series. The ending is just plain embarissing. it made me cringe.
watch this if you a fan. My son adores this film, i haven't discovered why yet but i've been watching him very closely and i think that some of the scenes are a little to saturating for him to handle. |
