I'll start of by saying that I'm a fantasy/sci-fi and action fan, I'm not entirely sure why I picked this film but it was listed on my recommendations so I thought I'd have a look and read the reviews. After just watching it I'll say I'm glad I did.
The acting is great, especially considering most of the cast are children. It has a simple yet effective story line and every bodies roles was thought out and executed wonderfully.

I won't say any more about it but I will recommend ... Read More:

First saw this in a double feature with Monty Python and the Holy Grail thinking it was a B-movie - how wrong I was. This is sheer perfection - the acting, script, set designs, lighting etc. etc. There is nothing to fault in this film and it guarantees plenty of laughs at every viewing. Gene Wilder : never better; Marty Feldman : priceless.
NB. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is not bad either!!!

August 18th, 2008Rating: seldom has american cinema made a movie so concious in it's expressive ability to move you emotionally without resorting to antics ,this is for the seventies what citizen kane must have been in 1940s as a true portryal of the american dream .

Superficially a seemingly seething road movie with kowalski as a free soul on a symbolic road trip from denver to frisco being chased by every partol car across 4 states ,worshipped by the common people who laud his ability to rebel yet hunted ... Read More:

We have to bear in mind this movie was first made in the 1980`s and cannot be judged along with disney of today. It is indeed a brilliant and engrossing movie, still loved by children - but it seems, judged too harshly by adults who clearly expect `more` these days. The 6 year old i bought it for absolutely loves it and watches it over and over..

5.The Secret Of Nimh [1982] starring: Elizabeth Hartman, Derek Jacobi, Dom DeLuise, Arthur Malet, Hermione Baddeley

The Secret of NIMH is an animated rarity. The story is a serious one - nobody bursts into song and there are quite a few disturbing sequences. Don Bluth's masterpiece deserves to be up there with Bambi as one of the greatest animated films of our time. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you see it, especially if you love Don Bluth's other classics like The Land Before Time or An American Tail.

The story itself is simple - a mother mouse (Mrs Brisby) must move her family, but she desperately needs help because her son is seriously ... Read More:

6.Hook [1992] starring: Dustin Hoffman, Robin Williams, Julia Roberts, Bob Hoskins, Maggie Smith
directed by: Steven Spielberg
April 24, 2000
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

DVD : Hook [1992]
This film is an insult to the British. A terrible performance by Dustin Hoffman, one of Hollywood's "got lucky" boys. If he wants to ham it up, the local Pantomime would be more appropriate. I can't believe Speilberg did this. A complete waste of money and Bob Hoskins. A lifelong fan of Julia Roberts, I can't see any point in casting her. Surely Roberts and Hoskins must cringe at showings of this crass presentation. As for Dustin Hoffman, bring back Mrs. Robinson, he needs some more luck.

Toys is a whimsical tale, led by a niave Robin Wiiliams who pits his wits (and toys) against the mad Michael Gambon (before his Harry potter days).
Toys is visually appealing, the story absorbs you and doesn't let go. The characters are weird, wacky and fascinating.
If you don't like Toys, then you've obviously had a stinted childhood.
Toys is for everyone!
