Who knew time travel could be so easy! Watched this with my daughter and laughed out loud - after 30 years. She loved it too! Bonus!

Enjoyed all those things you see and hear as an adult that as a child just passed you by. Simple genius.

I read Stephen King's excellent short-story prior to watching this and found it very creepy. But because it was a very short story, I couldn't imagine it successfully being adaptd to the screen. I was right.

The first 30 minutes or so are good and stay true to the story and also do it justice, but it just goes downhill from here. This is probably because the book only makes 30 minutes or film, so the plot has been padded out; with the inclusion of a sub-plot involving the main character's ... Read More:

This movie has been out a while now and has failed to interest me until now, probably because of Tom Green.

While not his biggest fan out there, probably far from it, i thought id give it a go and see what all the fuss was about.

Can i say that im glad i watched it? Yes i can, but not bceause its a "Saving Private Ryan" of comedy, but because i can now say i dont need to see it again in any rush.

Ok its not bad, it has some amazingly funny moments in it, but it frustrates ... Read More:

Pop this movie just the other night and it turns out this is still an incredible movie. Larenz Tate is indeed a fine actor. I've seen this movie numerously over the years and it still get to me. "Menace II Society" is a film that is so violent, depressing and real it seriously looks and feels like a documentary. Inside the first 20 minutes there are a few scenes that would be the climatic in the latter (Boyz n The Hood) purely because they contain outrageous violence, sadness and that feeling that you are watching something ... The film itself: Fabulous rendition of the classic by Charles Dickens. John Mills plays the part with elegance and style. Great.

Quality: Compared to a normal DVD this Blu Ray disk is very crisp. However (not a bad thing), if you are familiar with photography jargon, the film appears to be shot with a very high ISO throughout. But worth getting the Blue Ray version.

I was pointed in the direction of this movie by a friend of mine. I laughed so hard all the way through. Weird Al, is now in sole charge of a T.V station. and while things don't go so smoothly (even his girlfriend breaks up with him) there are laughs a plenty along the way. Of worthy note is Kevin McCarthy, briiliant as the owner of a rival T.V station who will stop at nothing to close Al's little operation. Laughs a plenty ensure there is never a dull moment Brilliant!

DVD : Anne of the Thousand Days/Mary, Queen of Scots (REGION 1) (NTSC)
Anne of the Thousand Days is an enjoyably lavish entertainment from the days when duelling kings and commoners were all the rage at the box-office - Beckett, A Man For All Seasons, The Lion in Winter - before Cromwell and Mary Queen of Scots all but killed off the genre. As history, its better at the general details than the specifics, but it's magnificently staged and not without some dry wit and humour ("We used the incest excuse last time. We can't make a habit of it."), most of it intentional - there's not a writer alive who wouldn't be aware ... Read More:

DVD : Apt Pupil [1999]

I have not read the book so cannot compare this to the text; however, as a stand alone film it works very well. Brad Renfro is very convincing as a teenager who is both attracted and repelled by Ian Mckellan's character's past.

What I liked about the film was that it was not delivered as a moral tale; it was more a study on obsession and what evil means. The ending was very unsettling and stayed with me. Also, whilst it talked about the holocaust it did so through the character's conversations and brief photos which made it all ... Read More:
