| This is a fun film for anybody over the age of around 14.It has a few laughs at the start and a few more along the way.Daft and very British,very much in the mould of the old Ealing Comedies.Without spoiling the storyline,a top cop is tranfered to a boring crime-free village and before you know it,everybody is getting bumped off.Recommended. |

| i think one of the frustrations of reading reviews of this film, is the focus on the sexual.
whereas, what i felt spoke the brilliance of the film was the familial relations. the undervalued emotionally frustrated youngest daughter spoke volumes of the mother's failure to love, essentially. |

| John M and Dustin H were outstanding in their roles as father and son. It is set almost identically as the stage version and manages to transfer the plays stage spectacle on to the small screen. If you're a fan of Arthur Miller then you won't be disappointed. Worth a viewing. |

| I have this DVD, and I think Victoria Wood is brilliant, as usual. A very funny woman. But... There is a very big delay as far as the lip movement is concerned - more than a second. Highly confusing. Has anybody else experienced the same? |

| This "mini-series" collection is Victoria Wood at her script writing best.
Like other reviewers I can't believe it has taken the BBC so long to release it. All we need for them to do now is release "All Day Breakfast" on DVD and I will be very happy! The best episodes for me are "We'd Quite Like To Apologise" because I work in travel myself and I still see these sort of passengers travelling today. The other one I really like is "Mens sana ... | This second series is has good it gets. All the cast work well together.Victorias humour will always stand the test of time.
My advice buy series one&two together, and view when ever you need a pick me up. Remind all your close friends what they are missing, don't lend them the D.V.Ds you may never get them back. |

| I didn't realise there was a previous series when I started watching life begins a month or so ago. I really enjoyed Series 2 so was delighted to find there was in fact a Series 1. Although not as much comedy in the first series I still found the storyline to be really funny and interesting. I really felt for Maggie when her husband left her for a younger model - his behaviour was outrageous - the way he was carrying on as if they were no longer even married made me want to punch him at times (he did originally just leave her ... | This collection is really funny and reflects on a TV series which was way ahead of it's time. When the series was first shown it was not at all popular as it was running the gauntlet alongside old established comedy and comedians (still very popular in the 1980's) I recall it being aired very late on Friday, on BBC2, not the trendy slot back then that it is today!
