| I bought this because it would save me space. It's the size of a normal DVD box, feels great and looks slick.
The DVD's in themselve are great as everyone knows. A fourth? It might be in the pipeline but wasn't written by the guy who wrote the original books. | After watching the dreadfully earnest 1984 George C Scott 'A Christmas Carol' (where only Liz Smith in the tiny role of Mrs. Dilber captured the spirit) it was a joy to go back to 1970 when they still knew how to do these things. | Sidney Lumet has made a lot of really good films - 'Fail Safe', 'Twelve Angry Men' - and lot of really not so great - 'Family Business', 'Q & A'.
Before the Devil knows You're dead is in the latter category, but near the top. It's a credit to the guy (and the film's underwriters) that an 83-year-old can make a picture like this, but it is inescapable that matters of tone went a bit awry.
