| An excellent resource both at home and at school. This book is aimed at children aged 5-8. It is very simple to use with clear illustrations and some photos. Definitions are well written and easy to understand. Also 'topic' pages such as parts of a bike, animals, numbers etc. are useful. A "must have in the classroom" book. |

| My cousin was having trouble naming her baby and she asked me for my input, so I bought her this book in an attempt to help her out. She read it and looked through the names etc., all the things you do with a baby name book. When her baby was born, she ended up naming her baby girl using a combination of her and her husband's grandmother's names instead of consulting the book.

| A nice book at a good price, but beware - all the pictures are line drawings in black and white only. It would be most suitable for older children who might enjoy colouring in the pictures as they learn the words...
For younger children the Usborne 'First Thousand Words in Chinese' book is probably much better. Both books, however, suffer from the problem that the scenes are Western with Chinese tacked on - so specifically Chinese items and scenes are missing. There's definitely room in the market ... | I am delighted wtih Tapping For Kids. It is simply brilliant for children. It can be adapted too to suit a particular group. The story form may suit younger children better but it can all be used very effectively with the 7 to 11 age group.
I also love the idea of CD's,posters, and tapping bears, and the feeling meter. Even without all these it can be great for children. They can even make up their own poems, songs and stories from these. The pictures are clear and really explain the procedures so well. ... Read More: |
