| This is a really beautiful edition of The Hunting of the Snark, Lewis Carroll's epic nonsense poem.
Since I love the poem, and would give just about ANY edition of it 5 stars, for the purposes of this review I'm going to ignore the poem itself and focus on this particular edition - which is a very nice book indeed. | Okay, to be honest, all of Gez Walsh's books are funny, and his poems are the best! He came to my school for a day and I brought all of his books and got them all autographed. He is a really nice guy to talk to, very lively, and some of the poems have you close to wetting yourself. |

| I don't dislike this collection but for anyone looking for an accessible book of poetry for kids, I think there are better buys. The range of topics and style is impressive, however.
I don't find that the text scans particuarly well in many of the poems and the interviews with the poets are illuminating but add little to the enjoyment of the poetry. I find that small children, in particular, enjoy more rhythmic prose than is found in this collection. |

| My daughter loves the illustrations and has learned a lot of new adjectives from this book, many that describe feelings. She is close to three and does not find this book overly simple. It is great for a baby (colorful illustrations) and for a toddler too (in other words, has a long life). |
