| I remember meeting illusrator Alan Aldridge whilst at Art College in the '60s. He was giving a lecture, & I was spellbound. I loved his work & the Butterfly Ball is the tops. It is very reminiscent of the art of the time, but also of all the much loved fairy tales of my youth. A wonderful book & a "must have" for any serious collector of childrens illustrated books. |

| The first time I came across this book must've been about 13 years ago, I was doing ancillary work for a primary school, helping children to read. I have to say it was quite a challenge as I would have to stop and dry my eyes. Rosen is a great story teller and puts such a wonderful twist in each tale, based as they are on popular stories we remember when we were young. | My two daughters love this book. I don't think I will ever part with it and will save it for when I'm a grandma! It's beautifully illustrated and is just a lovely book. I read it again and again to my girls and at the age of just 2, my youngest could recite the entire poem - which is some achievement given its length! Fab. Just Fab! |
