| I remember meeting illusrator Alan Aldridge whilst at Art College in the '60s. He was giving a lecture, & I was spellbound. I loved his work & the Butterfly Ball is the tops. It is very reminiscent of the art of the time, but also of all the much loved fairy tales of my youth. A wonderful book & a "must have" for any serious collector of childrens illustrated books. |

| This book will do wonders to stimulate the imagination of children (and adults). Its scary, entertaining, and above all fun... I'm an adult who loves it. English State schools stock it in their class libraries - which is how I read it by accident!! |

| We were discussing this book today and looked to see if it was still available, my daughter (who's now 20) and myself can still recite parts of this book from memory even after all this time. It was, and is a favourite of both my daughter and son, and one that will be read to their children when they have them even though our copy is a little dog eared from use. If you can get hold of a copy to read to your children do so, it's a wonderful book for the little 'uns! |
